1.My argument talks about the benefit of no student loans. Student loans are money borrowed from the government or private companies in order to pay for college expenses. I am against the idea of student loans. Many students borrow to fund a portion of their college expenses. Each year, 30 to 40 percent of all undergraduate students take federal student loans; 70 percent of students who receive a bachelors degree have education debt by the time they graduate (urban institute). This is a huge number, and it then takes them years to pay off what they borrowed. A lot of people forgo an education just to avoid the burden that would come with these loans, and some cannot even qualify for the loans themselves.
Countries such as Denmark, Egypt, and Finland are among some of the countries that have opted for free tuition for its citizens. With free education it would be easier to increase college enrollment. Education is very important, but I dont believe that it is for the common reason we are taught it is. Yes, it is important to be financially able to support yourself or follow your dreams, but that can be done without education. A lot of people have a misconception that just because you go to school you can achieve your dreams but it really depends on what that dream is. In my opinion education is important because it broadens our horizons. When we are young we start to dream of a future profession, but it eventually changes for most and that happens with education. We realize what our dreams are, then it is up to us to work to achieve them. We shouldnt deprive young people of the opportunity to explore and become better just because they are unable to afford it. Education is a right, it should not be a luxury. After all young people are the ones that are going to be around much longer.

My argument is whether or not a baby can be aborted after the 3 month mark of one’s pregnancy. This argument was discussed recently amongst a group of friends and I, so I decided to use it for this class too. As we all know, abortions are only legal in some states and for some cases, abortions can only happen before fetal viability which is when the fetus has reached a certain point in development to where it can survive outside of the womb. Fetal viability can take place after about 24 weeks of development. So my argument here is that abortion should take place before the 12-15 week mark because I feel like after that, the fetus begins to morph more into a baby/child versus a zygote going into an embryo. I also believe that it is a lot safer to terminate a pregnancy in the earlier stages versus later on as well, so that 12-15 week mark is safer for the person carrying if they do choose to abort.
