Critical Success Factors of Amazon
Strong Focus on Customers Satisfaction
The key factor contributing to Amazon's success lies in its commitment to consistently enhancing the customer experience and striving for optimal customer happiness. This is exemplified by the company's emphasis on a guiding philosophy known as "customer obsession," which positions the customer as the central focus of all its business activities . The customer-centric approach adopted by Amazon has resulted in the development of sophisticated customer metrics. These factors enable the platform's administrators and vendors to assess customer satisfaction. The data they collect serves as the foundation around which they develop and execute future strategies to enhance company operations. These methods provide sellers with insights about the extent to which their brand meets the expectations of buyers. In order to prioritize the provision of exceptional customer service, Amazon has implemented a variety of user-friendly resources that enable individuals to monitor the progress of their deliveries and efficiently initiate returns or exchanges for purchased products (Masyhuri,2022). These tools aim to enhance the ease and convenience of customers' online shopping endeavors. The Customer Service staff of Amazon has been the recipient of numerous accolades due to its unwavering commitment in proactively mitigating and promptly resolving customer issues. Amazon utilizes social media as an additional influential mechanism to actively interact with consumers and augment the caliber of their customer service.
High Innovation
Amazon has also prioritized innovation as their primary approach for achieving growth. Amazon has effectively enhanced its customer service delivery through the utilization of big data and artificial intelligence. Amazon has implemented a range of strategic approaches in order to accomplish its short-term and long-term objectives (Charles & Uford, 2023). Amazon has implemented interactive and generic tactics in order to offer clients a wide range of items and services at a significantly low cost, while maintaining a high level of quality.
Robust Supply Chain
Effective supply chain has been the precursor of Amazon’s success and growth. The supply chain management of Amazon is primarily reliant on technology and frequently exhibits early adoption of emerging technologies. The organization employs robotic systems, automated conveyor belts, and several other technological advancements within its fulfillment centers to optimize the efficiency of order sorting, storage, and shipping procedures. Amazon has established fulfillment centers globally and offers the Amazon Prime subscription program, which grants customers free delivery and additional benefits. This supply chain strategy is strategically planned by Amazon to ensure customers enjoy a convenient, swift, and costeffective purchasing experience. The logistics network of Amazon is strategically constructed to provide the efficient provision of rapid and complimentary shipping services as advertised under the Amazon Prime membership. The network comprises of fulfillment facilities, distribution facilities, and last-mile delivery solutions, which collaborate to assure the timely delivery of products (Masyhuri,2022). The cloud computing services provided by Amazon play a crucial role in the execution of the company's supply chain strategy. Amazon Web Services enables
Amazon to efficiently store and analyze substantial volumes of data in a timely and economically efficient manner. This has the potential to facilitate inventory management, conduct customer behavior analysis, and enhance supply chain optimization.
Evaluation of the company
Amazon’s growth has been influenced greatly largely by various factors which include but are not limited to; customer centric approach, high innovation and robust supply chain. The adoption and proliferation of Artificial Intelligence technology has become increasingly prevalent. Amazon, as a prominent example, has embraced AI technology in order to enhance operational efficiency and maintain competitiveness. One notable application is the utilization of AI technology to analyze customers' purchasing behaviors, enabling the provision of personalized product recommendations. Furthermore, Amazon has integrated AI technology into its voice-controlled assistant, Alexa, thereby enhancing the overall customer experience. Another area of innovation is the adoption of Blockchain technology with focus to enhance transparency and security within its supply chain (Huang et al, 2022). Amazon has made substantial investments in Blockchain technology. This technology facilitates the establishment of a decentralized ledger system, which allows effective tracking of products from suppliers to consumers. To sustain its industry leadership and competitiveness, Amazon possesses the most advanced information system among all companies operating in the E-commerce industry. The company's extensive information system has been shaped by its emphasis on research and innovation. The integration of big data, artificial intelligence within the organization has significantly improved its information system and customer service capabilities. The firm is focused on price competition and affordability. By pushing down prices for numerous consumer goods, Amazon has made its products less expensive for individuals around the world. Amazon possesses a team of human resource professionals who possess extensive expertise and are guided by the firm's customer-centric approach. The organization employs individuals possessing advanced technological abilities to monitor client behaviors and deliver products and services that align with their requirements.
The unparalleled supply chain as a critical success factor of Amazon has been achieved through, the utilization of international supply chains to gain access to a wide range of products, hence expanding its offerings to customers. This facilitates the provision of a wide range of products by the organization, encompassing items that might not be readily accessible in the immediate vicinity. The utilization of these same supply chains allows Amazon to maintain its cost efficiency by capitalizing on economies of scale and procuring goods from countries with lower production prices. This capability allows Amazon to provide competitive price to its clientele, which serves as a crucial factor in its success (Charles & Uford, 2023). The logistics and delivery operations of Amazon are significantly influenced by international supply networks. The establishment of a comprehensive global supplier network enables Amazon to expediently and effectively facilitate the transportation of goods across various regions worldwide.
Conclusion
Psalms 118:8 teaches us that is is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. Despite many other critical success factors Amazon’s growth and success has been driven by its customer centric approach as well as focus on innovation and technology. By leveraging on the e-commerce Amazon has managed to sustain the industry competitiveness by offering high quality and diverse products and services. The use of technologies such as big data and blockchain has given Amazon a competitive edge and industry leadership.
