38113Consider a challenge that currently exists at your school site in relation to implementation of the CCSS. (What is the challenge? What data supports this idea?)
2) Plan a one hour professional development highlighting a plan to address this challenge grounded in research based criteria. (What is your plan for reform and what scholarly evidence supports this?) You will have to begin by convincing some of the staff that the challenge is real and worth addressing. Use data-driven leadership to accomplish this.
3) In your plan be sure to include the following criteria; goals/objectives of proposed plan, procedures /policies necessary to support plan, personnel/ resources required for the plan, and assessment/evaluation to monitor effectiveness of plan.
4) How will your plan ensure the success of all learners? The intent of the CCSS is to ensure ALL students are ready for success after high school (http://www.corestandards.org/). How will your plan ensure the success of all students including; special needs learners, English language learners, and other at risk groups? How will you solicit staff buy in?
5) Prepare a PowerPoint (or other visual) presentation for this assignment (10-15 slides). Use the “notes section” of the PowerPoint or alternative presentation to share your detailed talking points. Use copious notes to elaborate on your ideas. Your notes should be written according to APA format, including a minimum of 2 references to support your work.
