A bivariate regression analysis was performed between hours worked per week and hours spent relaxing in order to explore wether the number of hours respondents work plays a role in how many hours they have to relax.
Background & Results:
Respondents were asked to state their hours worked with the question: “How many hours a week do you usually work, at all jobs?” . People were also asked “After an average work day, about how many hours do you have to relax or pursue activities that you enjoy?”
This statistical output comes from the General Social Survey Data (2018). Here are the results!

1. Introduction (100 words or more)
Describe the goal and your predictions of this particular bivariate regression analysis
What were the independent and dependent variables?
What did we hope to uncover or learn more about in this analysis?
Did you believe that these two variables would be related, why or why not?
2. Methods (100 words or more)
State the results of the outputs including:
explain the slope as it applies specifically in this scenario
explain the y-intercept as it applies specifically in this scenario
explain pearson's r and r2 as it applies specifically in this scenario
3. Results (100 words or more)
Provide a summary of results explaining the output values including answers to the questions:
Was the p-value less than .05?
Are the two variables significantly related to one another?
What can r2 tell us about the relationship between the variables?
4. Discussion
Discuss any other potential variables that can influence the dependent variable
Provide some thoughts on why we obtained the results we obtained, consider various logical explanations and additional explanations that could play a role in the results
