- Re-read your notes on the short New York Times article, “Hawaii Is a Paradise, but Whose?” In this article the author writes of another place of paradise, Hawaii, and the multiple issues related to this formerly sovereign nation.
Now, write a comparison of these concerns expressed in the New York Times article and in Kincaid’s A Small Place. Throughout the book, Kincaid notes, always in her sarcastic language, the tourists’ lack of concern and the businesses and politicians’ damage to the local population.
