Article Review:
Find an article in a peer reviewed educational journal. This must be a peer reviewed article, so be careful with internet articles. My
suggestion would be to use articles from Galileo. Your article should
be on the topic of the Academic Achievement between students of
different racial groups. An example could be the achievement
gaps between Caucasian and African American, Hispanic or Asian
students, etc. The article must discuss a teaching strategy, a parent
engagement strategy, or a possible solution to close the
achievement gap. Articles that simply explain the gap will not
suffice. Submit an article review on this article using the format
below. In your review, be sure that you make connections between
the article and the readings that you completed the past couple of
weeks.
Article Review Format:
❖ Paragraph #1: Introduce the topic of the article by summarizing
the issue or problem discussed in the article.
❖ Paragraphs #2-4: Summarize the main research presented in
the article: Proposal/Question Data/Results
Conclusions/Applications
❖ Final Paragraph: Personal response to article: How it applies to
course? Why you chose it? How you liked it?
Criticisms/Question?
❖ Do not exceed two pages.
❖ Use formal APA writing style.
❖ Please choose an article that is within the past 5 years.
❖ Be sure to include the article in a separate attachment
