Write a Research essay on a work, or works (comparing orcontrasting different works), that we have read so far in the course. The Research essay will bean Argument essay that is your own personal interpretation of the work or a key aspect(s) of thework, but it will also involve research using 3 to 5 secondary sources (literary essays and/orbooks on your chosen subject) that you will briefly quote to either support your analysis or thatyou disagree with, explaining why you disagree with it (Note: Wikipedia, Spark Notes, CliffNotes, Shmoop, etc. are not secondary sources). Your analysis should focus on the literarywork(s) and you should not include the authors biographical information (his/her life story).Avoid using the personal I, in my opinion, I think etc. just say what you want to say.Dont summarize what the story/poem is about (dont retell the story or poem) instead, focuson your analysis and interpretation.
