What other things has the filmmaker made? Have you seen their other works? How does it compare?

Assignment Instructions:

Watch a full-length documentary film or series. Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu have tons of them. Make sure it happens to engage a human-interest piece in some way. Essentially, you want a film that talks about people or how people interact with something. Stay away from Animal Planet and anything narrated by David Attenborough. If you don’t have access to one of those platforms, you can find a library of free documentaries here: https://topdocumentaryfilms.com/ (Links to an external site.). Pick something other than Tiger King for this assignment.

I want you to analyze the style of the filmmaker. Consider the follow:
a) What is the main thesis for the work?
b) What is the documentary about?
c) What were your initial reactions to the film?
d) What other things has the filmmaker made? Have you seen their other works? How does it compare?

Do some research. What have other people said about the film, or on the subject the film talks about? Find at least two sources on the subject or project and discuss them.

Present to me your final conclusion if you think the main idea of the documentary was well constructed and presented to the audience (you). Were there ways it could have been done better? What would you have done differently?
