I was born and raised in S. Korea. In Korea, music was a mandatory subject from K-12 while I was in school. I learned music theory, sight singing, note reading and sang in harmony at school. FYI, I did not attend fancy private schools. After I moved to California, I noticed not every school provides music education as a mandatory subject. Do you think music education should be a mandatory or elective subject in school?
