Despite the quantitative nature of some aspects of decision making, not all managers will choose the best alternative for the firm (Datar&Rajan, 2014). Managers could engage in self-serving behavior such as delaying needed equipment maintenance in order to meet their personal profitability quotas for bonus consideration (Datar&Rajan, 2014). Successful measurement of performance in an organization should therefore entail steady measurement of improvements by the customers as well as the results delivered to the shareholders and the stakeholders (Darwish & Potocnik, 2016). In addition to measuring, other measures of performance include defining and understanding the metrics, the collection and analyzing of data and eventually devising actions which are geared towards improvement. Some fall under a variety of categories, including profitability, liquidity, solvency, efficiency, and valuation. Non-Financial measures gives information on the company’s performance. The importance of nonfinancial measures of quality allows for employees understand how something such as coming into work can make a huge difference for productivity.

When a customer orders a product form a company, the customer is expecting the item to arrive in a timely manner. When the product has not arrived in that timely manner the customer can be upset and question the service of that particular company. At one’s employers we use financial measure as to track product throughout the building to determine how long it will take before ready to ship. If companies didn’t track products, then the business would not know where areas of opportunity’s are needed to improve service.
