Topic and theme of paper
Your paper should be based primarily on the weekly topic. You are also welcome to draw on other topics and ideas we’ve discussed in prior weeks, but be sure that your main focus in the weekly one.
Approach
Use this paper as an opportunity to explore the weekly topic a bit more deeply and then apply these ideas to an object of analysis (OOA) that you locate. Your OOA can be anything that you find interesting and that is a useful illustration of the analysis you want to conduct. You might want to consider choosing something that relates to your undergraduate major or minor, to a job you have (or once had), or to a cause you care about. Contemporary, digital artifacts probably come to mind first: Web pages; social media posts; TikTok and other videos; email; texts. But you could also consider printed materials, such brochures or books.
Your audience
The audience for this paper is your instructor as well as the other students in class. Write with these folks in mind.

Introduction
Tell us what you plan to do in this paper, what your topic is, why you chose it. Provide a short summary of your findings. (1 page)

Description of the OOA and why you chose it
Describe the OOA, giving us enough background to understand the broader context. (For instance, if you use a portion of a Reddit discussion, help us understand the overall thread and what dynamics led up to this portion.) Explain why you chose this OOA. Include a screen capture if that would be helpful. (1-2 pages)
Analysis
Analyze what you found. First, describe what you see in terms of communication dynamics. (For instance, you might say “In this Reddit thread, I noticed that one person is dominating the discussion. They are doing so by constantly interrupting, challenging others’ claims.)
After describing the dynamics you observed, put these in the context of the weekly discussion. For instance, in the week on technology, you might say “I believe that the use of online discussion forums encourages this behavior, because you can type whatever you want and not really consider the other people on the thread. This observation connects to our weekly discussion about “anonymity” and “distance” in online communication. 3-4 pages including any screen captures or other figures or visuals
Summary
