Choose your participant level (please be clear on choice in your deliverable if choosing this training problem): Regional customer service managers or Frontline Customer Service Agents.
A recent event in the news has prompted the HR Manager to review the training process for an active shooter situation. You have been asked to develop an active shooter training session. Participants will be all employees across the organization.
The Warehouse Manager has informed you that employees are failing to log in and out for their shift resulting in a lot of manual processes to correct. You have been asked to develop a training session on the importance of logging in and out for shifts and breaks. Participants will be warehouse employees that are hourly.
The Risk Management Manager has come to you with concerns over natural disaster preparedness. You have been asked to create a training session on natural disaster preparedness in the workplace (examples: hurricane, tornado, flooding, earthquake).
Other: You can create a topic if you like, please submit your topic idea to me no later than Wednesday via email for approval. This option might be ideal if you have a project that you need to design training for at your current employer. Work applicable projects are acceptable.
Deliverable:
Prepare a 2-3-minute (maximum) video pitching your idea to management. Be sure to state your training course topic focus from the list above (6 to choose from) and what you hope to achieve (necessity). In your video, you will state 3 key Training Objectives your training will provide to participants upon completion (see example below). These objectives should be measurable and testable. Use Blooms Taxonomy action verbs to help you formulate sound objectives that begin with action verbs. Chapter 4 will help you develop these. Keep in mind training objectives come from the organization perspective of what participants can do once they complete training and are high level.
Example: topic #1: Participants will be able to explain why some organizations experience low morale.
Submit your video pitch of your topic and objectives to the submission folder on Sunday by 11:59pm of week 1.
