Was I Strategic? – When we are stressed we have a fight/flight reaction. This is useful if we are in actual physical danger, but not so useful if the stress is more mental or emotional. Mental or emotional stress often causes bad judgment, and we do things we regret. – Next time you have mental or emotional stress, if you are not in physical danger, try to slow yourself down, using the meditation technique.
Inhale and say to yourself: “I am calm”
Exhale and say to yourself : “I am strong”
Keep doing this until you have calmed down, and are no longer having a fight/flight reaction. Then try to figure out the best, most intelligent, most effective response to the situation….. a strategy. Now try to use your strategy.
