The exam consists of four problems you must solve. You must create a single Excel file with four worksheets (tabs) – one tab per problem.
This exam is open-book/open-note.
- The exam problem descriptions and corresponding images of the templates are listed in the “Midterm Exam” document, which you can access once you begin the exam. You will be required to recreate the templates in Excel on your own. Remember that the suggested templates (e.g. model layouts in Excel) are just recommendations – you can modify them anyway you want (e.g. delete suggested fields, add new fields, ignore the entire template and create a new one, etc.).
- Within the exam, you will see just one “question” listed, with the title “SUBMIT YOUR COMPLETED EXAM FILE HERE”. This is a “file response” question and can only be answered by attaching a file. Please note that as soon as you open your exam, the four-hour timer will begin to count down. It will continue to do so even if you leave the exam.
- As you work through the problems, you are advised to save your file frequently to ensure you don’t lose any work in the case of a technical issue.
- Name your filled-out test file as follows: YourLastName, FirstName_Midterm.
To finish the exam, you will submit your completed spreadsheet as an Excel document attachment within the exam. Directly below the file response question, you will see the option to attach a file. Attach your completed Midterm Exam there and then submit the test. Make sure that you answer all four questions presented, each on a separate tab of the singular excel file.
