New Orleans is a great city and we should rebuild it back to its former glory, but better reinforced to protect against future hurricanes, and sea level rise 2. New Orleans is needed, but we can’t return to the past. We can rebuild a smaller city that does not require extraordinary engineering to make it safe from hurricanes. 3. The combination of sea level rise and crustal subsidence means that we can never make New Orleans a city safe from hurricanes and oods. We need to `rebuild it elsewhere’. This opinion piece should be between 450 and 600 words in length (and be 3-4 paragraphs in length). This should re ect your opinion on the topic, but your opinion will have more impact if you can back it up with facts, or examples (and even personal experiences). Remember that each paragraph should start with a topic sentence that provides information and leads into the remainder of the paragraph.
