The purpose of the outline is to help you think through how you will frame your discussion and organize points from the readings that will help you support this discussion.

this project is not a case study, it is a literature review

For your projects:

– You are analyzing readings and considering how they contribute to answering your question/addressing your topic.

– You will frame a debate and take a position

– You will identify points on which scholars agree and disagree — e.g., what are the main points in discussions on which scholars agree or disagree, what do they miss, how do they critique each other — and you will critique the arguments. ***You will do this before you begin writing your paper.***

– You will use the above to provide support for your position or your answer to your question.

– Your paper will be organized around framing a debate, taking a position, and providing support for your position. You will use your analysis and critique of the literature to provide support.

– In your paper, you will avoid summarizing readings and organizing paragraphs around these summaries.
