Get it written →Conduct a 24-48 hour news audit.
Track the sources that you use to get news/information. Track your sources for a 24 or 48-hour time period. In your audit, please record:
The sources you looked at for news
The modality of your sources (Is this a website? A Tik Tok’er? A podcast? A newspaper? etc.)
- How much time you spent reading each source
- How much time you spent interacting with a source (did you repost? comment? discuss with friends?)
- What issues or topic you read about on this source
- What perspective was the source written or presented from?
- How you reacted to it, and/or how it made you feel.
- You can present your audit in any format (chart, list, narrative). In addition to your audit, please also write a short reflection about what you learned from this exercise. Based upon what you’ve learned, are there any changes you would like to make to your current news diet?
