Antigone, by Sophocles, contrasts two types of law:
- Divine or religious law is defended and argued by Antigone.
- The law of men and states is supported and argued by Creon.
Instructions
Much of the play is a dialogue between Antigone and Creon concerning these two types of law. Which law do you feel sets a precedent over the other? Please develop a clear and concise argument and include at least two references of dialogue from the play in your post to solidify your point.
