Assignment 1

Case: The Portable Document Format (PDF) is a widely used file format for digital documents. It offers several features that make it popular and versatile. Some key features of the PDF format are Platform Independence, Security, Compression, Print Optimization, and Digital Signatures.

Answer the following questions

Question 1: Describe how PDF provides an output that is consistent across different types of devices, including printers and monitors of various resolutions.

Question 2: Describe the format for storing, laying out, and managing the objects on a page. Explain the advantages of the use of this format over other formats, such as that used by HTML.

Question 3: Explain how PDF manages the many different types of fonts that might be found in a document.

Question 4: How does PDF manage bitmap images? Object images?

Question 5: Describe at least three major limitations that PDF places on the end-user of a PDF document

Assignment 2

1) In Discussion Forum 2, post your response to the following discussion topic. Reply to at least two classmates’ responses and shares informative URLs by the date indicated in the Course Calendar. Your discussion question response should be at least 200 Words, with another 50 words per reply.

The term Internet of Things was first introduced in 1999. Kevin Ashton, a British technology visionary, first used it to describe objects connected to the internet-any type of object.

Discuss two challenges created by the Internet of Things (IoT) and possible solutions.

2) Respond to at least two other students (at least 50 words each)!

Respond to two (2) students/Peers (two classmates). The responses should be at least 50 words each and must focus on the discussion topic above. Examine related issues, ask questions, provide hypothesis and/or situation(s). A peer response should not be to a peer already responded to more than twice.
