We are exposed to so many signs on a daily basis that we are often unable to consume more than a quarter of what we see. What do you think it would be like to live in a world where there were significantly fewer signs?
Studies conducted in The Netherlands indicated that drivers improved their motor (and motoring) skills when signs were removed. Do you think that there are too many signs on US roads? Do you think that people’s driving would improve if we had less signs or different kinds of signs?
How do you think your brain makes connections between the word chair and the actual object that you sit in?
