Identify and explain what it means for the natural features of the park to be considered intrinsically valuable.

Take a U.S. National Park or any State Park as your example. In relation to this example, respond to the following:

1. Identify and explain what it means for the natural features of the park to be considered intrinsically valuable.

2. Identify and explain what it means for the natural features of the park to be considered instrumentally valuable.

3. Identify what you take to be the similarities and differences between the intrinsic and instrumental value approaches to the park you have chosen as your example.

4. Identify and explain what you take to be the strengths and weaknesses of the intrinsic and instrumental value approaches to the park you have chosen as your example. As part of your evaluation, also consider how each approach lends itself to public policy in relation to the national park you have chosen as an example.

[Your total response should be no less and no more than 1400-1500 words, double-spaced.]

NOTE:

Focus on the analysis and evaluation of the different ethical theories in relation to the national park you have chosen.

Integrate the relevant readings (Palmer, Callicott, Sarkar) and class-notes on each topic) when answering the questions.

Use 12-point font and double-spaced format for your responses.

Specify your word count at the end of your response.

Identify your sources at the end of your response (make sure to mention specific articles, authors, and page numbers where available). This is not part of your word count for your response.

Avoid quoting authors. Explain your response in your own words instead.

Please make sure the work is your own and not copied from other sources (I want you to work on developing your own analytic skills, not copying artificial intelligence or someone else’s work).
