This module discusses the use of information from managerial accounting systems and the use of costs in decision making.

Discuss the following:

Different uses for managerial information within different industries

Experiences you have with utilizing costs in decision making, whether it be in your daily personal life or in your professional life

If you have not had any experience with managerial accounting, the balanced scorecard, or using costs in decision making, please explain ways in which you may be able to utilize the concepts in your field.

Expectations:

There are two components to each discussion board assignments:

1. Initial Post: Post your original response to the discussion prompts

2. Responses: Post replies on the posts of at least two other classmates that add something to the discussion utilizing concepts from the course. You should not merely compliment classmates or post your feelings about their post, but support your response with concepts from the assigned material for the course

Grades for this assignment will be based on the grading rubric which includes aspects related to your critical thinking, ability to discuss, and relate the concepts in the material to the discussion topics. Please see the discussion board tips below about keeping your posts “CRISP.”
