Step 1: BIOGRAPHY

1. Find a Senior Citizen Participant (70+)

Choose a senior citizen to analyze – please make sure they are ok with it first! Examples include: grandparents, friends of family, historical figures, or contacting a local retirement home and work with someone there.

TASK: Find out who your participant is – what are their character traits, beliefs, core values?

2. Interview your participant. – see below for suggestions for questions

3. Interview others that might know your participant (Family members, friends, etc.)

4. In full paragraph form write up the answers to your interview questions in a chronological biography of your participant.

5. Hand in a list of the questions you asked along with your final biography.

Suggestions of things you might like to ask your participant:

– birthdate – family dynamics (parenthood, grandparenthood)
– where they were born and raised – what is important to them?
– hobbies – what are the proudest of?
– socio-economic background – what are they least proud of?
– education – what have they not done that they wished they had?
– employment
