Magnitude Estimation. This method is NOT a threshold study, but instead using numbers to estimate how intense it is. Read the instructions carefully and perform the tone version. Then add a copy of your results graph to your post and answer the following questions. When you entered “20” for a response, what does that mean? What are the highest and lowest numbers you entered for answers? How is this technique, magnitude estimation, different than a measurement of thresholds (limits, constant stimuli, adjustment)? That is, what is the goal in magnitude estimation — what is shown in your graph?
