The research team needs to verify that the right equipment has been shipped to you. To do this you need to provide the following information in the form of screenshots and then paste them inside a Word document. Make sure to provide screenshots for each of these tasks.
To begin we need to make sure you have the following folder setup. Create a new folder called “COMP150 Research” within the documents folder.
Next create a new Microsoft Word document titled “YourName_COMP150_W1_Assignment”. You will take screenshots and add information from the following steps into this Word document.
Create a screenshot of your documents folder with the newly created “COMP150 Research” folder inside of it and add this to the Word document.
Provide information about your computer by identifying the version of operating system you are using and its system information.
It is important to know which type of network settings you have. Are you using a wireless or wired connection? Please provide a screenshot of your network settings.
Since this is a company computer, we need to add the attached image (Links to an external site.) as part of your desktop wallpaper. Take a screenshot of your desktop once it has been added.
The following weeks we will be using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as our main tools. Please pin these three programs to the task bar (Windows) or add them in the dock (macOS).
We will be setting up many meetings and need to be sure you know how to access the calendar application in your system. Provide a screenshot of the current month in your calendar.
We need to meet at the following coordinates. Use your operating system’s map application to find it. 41.833381, -88.007658
Once you have completed all of these steps, submit your Word document. Include a heading or title for each screenshot and submit it.

The “Read Me” sheet is the place where you will add your name and date. You will also explain the purpose of the document and the type of information you are providing. See an example below.
screenshot of example “read me” sheet
Based on your research topic, you need to provide a large set of data that can be used for analysis during this week and next. Your data set must be at least of 10 rows and 3 columns and no more than 50 rows or 10 columns. You can make this up or do research to find a data set. The data set must have numbers to help with the calculations in the next steps, so it is recommended to review the entire assignment before you create the data set.
The table with the dataset must have a header that is merged and center.
The data must be visible so make sure the columns and rows have enough spacing
You are expected to have all of the following calculations
A formula using a relative reference
A formula using absolute reference
Use at least three different functions
Ensure the different types of data have the right formatting. Here are some guidelines
Dates should have “date” formatting

You will analyze the data you collected and provided in your assignment last week. As you are working on each of the steps below, think about the analysis that you will provide to the research team. Follow the steps below to complete this analysis.
Copy the file you created in week 5 and rename the new one “YourName_COMP150_W6_Assignment”.
Open the file and duplicate the sheet where the initial table and data were created
Rename the new sheet as “sorting & filters” and move it to the right of the original sheet
Make the data look professional by using formatting options such as borders and table styles to place the data into a table.
Select one of the text-based data columns such as names, cities, or addresses and sort the data by Z to A.
Create a custom filter to any part of the data except where you did the sort. For example, if you sorted by patient’s name, then filter another set of data.
Duplicate the original sheet again and rename it as “conditional formatting”. Move it right after the “sorting & filters” sheet.
Implement conditional formatting to any of the number-based data sets. For example, showing higher numbers in green, while showing lower numbers in red.
Add an IF function and apply it to the entire set. For example, you could create a function that says if x number is higher than x number, then you are at risk. The purpose is to show how an IF function works so creativity it is permitted in how you use the function.
Use the “conditional formatting” sheet to create a pivot table.
The pivot table needs to be on its own sheet.
The pivot table needs to be meaningful so make sure to select data that will make it clear for your analysis.
The pivot table should have data selected on the columns, rows, and values fields. Make sure to consider the data when adding the values selection
Create a minimum of two charts. Make sure to select the right chart that explains your analysis. Each chart should be on its own sheet and should have a title. Make sure the purpose of the chart is self-explanatory just by looking at it.
Update the documentation sheet
Update the date.
Add all the new rows for the sheets created.
Provide a brief written analysis for each of the new sheets. Explain what you want the research team to learn about each sheet.
Review all the sheets to ensure it looks professional. Try to keep the same style, colors, and formatting, Make sure the file is named “YourName_COMP150_W6_Assignment” and submit the file.
