Think of a person real or imagined.

After you write them, you will post the four paragraphs you write to the discussion board.  (Don’t post the page of vital information.  That’s general stuff, reporting, and you don’t want to refer to that at all.  You want to dramatize, to reveal your character through specific action, physical detail, and giving the character a specific way of speaking.) 

Four Pictures of a Person

Part one:  Think of a person real or imagined.  On a single page, write the person’s vital information:  name, height, age, weight, profession, marital status, ethnicity, race, religion, education, place of birth, sexual orientation, and political information.

Part two:  Without ever referring directly to any information on that first sheet, choose any four of the following and describe how the person would:

1. Walk up a church’s stairs to a funeral

2. Prepare breakfast alone

3. Answer the telephone when a telemarketer calls 

4. Tell a funny story

5. Dance alone at home

6. Cry (you pick why)

7. Argue with a truck driver

8. Vomit

9. Sweet talk a waitress/waiter

10. Play with a small child
