Proposal and Annotated Bibliography This assignment is the preliminary work for your film analysis, the directions for which you should review before beginning the proposal and bibliography. Directions: 1. Write a preliminary title for your essay. 2. Write a proposal for your upcoming essay. It should cover the following points: a. the preliminary question or idealthesis that your paper will investigate b. the topics you expect to cover ‘ c. your research methods/approach. The proposal should be a single paragraph of around 125 words in length. (In other words, it should be about half of one double-spaced page.) 3. Write a preliminary bibliography for your upcoming essay. It should be in correct MLA format and include the following sources: a. the film (not annotated) in. three secondary sources (annotated). An annotation is a note of 3—4 sentences on each secondary source. It should cover the following points: i. the source’s reliability ii. the source’s main point{s) iii. the source’s usefulness to your argument (i.e., how you will use the source in your paper). Article databases and other library sources often provide summaries of books and articles. Do NOT use these. if you do, it will be plagiarism.
