How much power do our words have? This is the question that I asked myself while reading a magazine. It was a story about how Steph Curry joked to a news reporter about an interview he had with former US president Barrack Obama. Steph Curry claimed that Barrack Obama told him that aliens were real and that he would not believe what they looked like. In addition, Steph mentioned that the moon landing was faked. The night after the interview aired, Steph supposedly received a long and stern email from Barrack Obama scolding him about how what he said matters and can change outcomes.

Throughout history, words have always had a tremendous amount of power. They can start wars, heal the sick, and even bring people back from the dead. The Bible says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). This just goes to show how important words are. In my paper, I want to explore the power of words and how they can affect people, both positively and negatively.
