Cultural Profile
A cultural profile is defined as a tool used to assess different cultures to identify their preferences and cultural styles. It is used to determine what type of manager a person is likely to be. A cultural profile functions by matching an individual’s management style against the requirements of a specific cultural group they might oversee. Cultural profiling is used to detect potential problems in relocation and identify difficulties between members of multicultural teams. When interacting with a different culture, organizations use cultural profiling to asses their cultural style to do comparisons. Business people and diplomats need to consider cultural profiles when operating in a different culture to be familiar with key salient cultural issues when interacting with new people (Han, 2020). Hence, this helps team leaders maintain a common bias when comparing cultures.
After self-assessment of one’s cultural competence, there are various areas to improve or strengthen to ensure smooth efficient cooperation while working with multicultural teams. Having a clear sense of one’s own ethnic, cultural, and racial identity to better relate and coexist with people of similar cultures. To learn more about others, one needs to understand and be ready to share in the unique practices of one’s culture to promote understanding. Being aware of one’s privilege such as race and how it affects other people’s perception of them. Being attentive and listening to questions and understanding them fully before answering. Knowing one’s family history about immigration and assimilation to better comprehend culture (Savage, 2018). Hence, acknowledging both intercultural and intracultural differences
It is good to always seek out people and cultures that challenge others to maintain and increase the cross-cultural skills available for learning. Participating in initiatives, small and big, that promote understanding among members of diverse groups. Reflecting on Proverbs 3:5-6, one’s trust in god is more relationship-based as it is from the heart. “Lean not on your understanding” means that god knows the way and we don’t. Sometimes we might not figure Cultural differences out on one’s own but by relying on God and following one’s heart the truth will follow. Hence, cultural profiles differ and require faith and understanding to improve upon.

Strengths and weaknesses cannot be asserted without experience. But these articles written by Prof. Erin Meyer highlighted an aspect I wasn’t aware of. It gave new dimensions to reflection. I stimulated my memory to remember the many situations I went through when working with people of different cultures and origins from me. And I was showing my admiration and denunciation for what they are doing and how they deal with things. One of the things that caught my eye is the way to communicate the idea or information, whether it is directly known, criticism or praise and how to accept and take it. I think I need to learn this skill. How to understand the context of the speech We take things directly or read between the lines and study body language. She even touched on silence, as there are societies that consider it a sign of satisfaction and understanding like our Arab society and peoples who consider it an indication of the lack of understanding of the other party. She explained that the composition of languages and their vocabulary affects us. That is, we need analysis to be able to understand or it directly. There are many things, but I won’t go into them all. (Meyer, 2016). I think trust is built on both mind and heart. But you must take a place in the heart first with certainty. Then comes the mind’s turn to stabilize it by thinking and reasoning that these creatures and greatness have no body to be the creation of anyone, God. And it’s our order to use both.
