Treatment approach presentation.
Treatment approach presentation. You should choose one treatment approach—do not present on multiple approaches in detail and do not re-teach content that was taught in class previously (you are expected to “go above and beyond” on one approach). Presentations should be no longer than 10 minutes and will be followed by a 5-minute question-answer period, where you will be expected to answer questions from your professor and/or your peers. When listening to others’ presentations, you should try to formulate at least one question to ask during the Q&A. An outline of the treatment approach is also required. These outlines will be valuable components of your clinical portfolios (think of them as “cheat sheets” on different treatment methods that can be used in different clinical situations). Outlines should be organized logically and may answer some/all of the following questions: What population is this treatment best used with? How does it work? How long does it take? Does it require formal training and adherence to protocol or is it more flexible? Do you have to be certified to do this? How does it compare with other treatments used with this population and for people with these particular concerns/symptoms? Is there research supporting the efficacy of this treatment tool? Include appropriate references and internal citations for all information presented (include an APA-style reference list); whenever possible, access the actual treatment protocol/original article. For information regarding APA style, refer to a style manual, library guide, or other source (see APA Style Referencing document in the Toolbox). Remember: this is an academic exercise, and you should use appropriate academic sources (peer-reviewed journal articles, edited books or book chapters, reputable websites (e.g., NIH, ASHA), etc.). Outlines should contain paraphrased information (no copying or quoting directly from articles, websites, books). Keep your outlines to a maximum of two pages plus one reference page. You should save your files with your last name and name of the treatment approach (e.g., “Bridges_CART”). Your presentation outlines are to be uploaded in 2NYU (see assignment upload page), so your peers can download them for future reference.
Need:
1. Outline
2. Powerpoint Presentation (covers the information in the outline, basically explains the treatment, who it is used for, RESEARCH DONE ON TREATMENT, and a video of the treatment done in practice
3. Provide pdf of the articles
