Diary Day One.

Instructions from our professor: “British parliamentarian Samuel Pepys is best known for having written a diary for a decade as a young man in the 1660s. He was candid, cheeky, and upfront about what he saw going on around him during a period that included the Great Plague. I want you to compile your own Plague Diaries revolving around COVID-19 and how we are emerging from it. Or are we?

Blogs, podcasts, videos, cartoons, or build a webpage. Include your social media posts as part of it if you like. How are you feeling today? What is happening around you, around the city or province or country or world? Maybe pick a topic of the day, or like John Krasinki’s SGN. Who is being affected? Do you know anyone? What should you/we be doing better? What’s going to happen? Why can’t people follow arrows on the floor? These are just some of the questions you could ask yourself.

Length is based on the effort you put into it. You can make an actual blog or just send me the assignment link if you don’t want to post it. That being said, length doesn’t make it good. But equally, a lack of length will be bad. So each day’s entry should be what it is and what it requires. Some are going to take longer than others. Some days you will have more to say than on others. Just put in the effort! 

Engage me! Make it exciting, informative, fun (or serious).  Where’s the stuff? Why would I come back to this every day? Make me want to come back every day! This is the biggest news event of your lives. Document it! Be like Pepys, but be like Pepys had access to multimedia tools and the Internet!”

I want to talk about how I got a cat recently so I can post pictures and also videos of him on my blog.
Also since the every day diary needs to revolve around the pandemic it seems so could also talk about how getting a pet can help us cope during the pandemic and act as emotional support.
