Dear Class,

This is the graded Discussion for Week 6. Your response to this prompt will only be submitted to me. This Discussion is worth a possible 10 points.

In Chapter 28: Agency Law, we learned that both employees and independent contractors can be considered agents. What exactly constitutes an employee versus an independent contractor has been a big issue lately, specifically for gig-economy companies like Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Instacart, and the like. We even had a proposition come up in the last major election to try to deal with this issue. 

What do you think about these companies and their drivers? Do you think they are employees or independent contractors? Tell me which one and why. Use what we have learned about agency as much as possible in your analysis.
