The topic of the research paper is salsa music in Cuba. The paper will illustrate the history of the salsa genre and will cover Salsa music origin in Cuba from the 1930s to the twenty-first century. It will also present salsa music characteristics that include bell patterns, Spanish language lyrics and African-Cuban rhythms. At the same time, the paper will discuss rhythm, songs and instrumentations in salsa music. Besides, it will explain how salsa music reflects Cuban culture. The paper will discuss how salsa music influences people’s culture and its significance to Cuba.
