Race, Class, Gender, and Identity in the U.S

Make sure you have read Part VII in Race, Class, Gender, and Identity in the U.S.

Choose one of the laws or court cases from Chapter 7 in Race, Class Gender, and Identity. Read through the document and do a little outside research if you need to understand  it completely. How does your law or your case relate to present day treatment of the group effected by the original law? Provide one  present day example of the way this law is outwardly or secretly being carried out.

Example: Brown v. Board of Education case made racial segregation in the U.S. illegal, yet in present day most public schools are still heavily segregated and black and brown students still receive poor education, subpar resources, and are less likely to attend college.
