Lifestyles must change after a heart failure diagnosis has been established. Patients often wonder if they will live after diagnosis or if they will die, and they have a strong desire to know much more about the disease process. The patients conferred with their primary physician to better understand their prognosis with heart failure.

This descriptive-interpretive qualitative study aimed to investigate and look at the lived experiences of HF patients. The study examined the patient as a whole person, not just the status of their mental outlook after diagnosis. According to the qualitative research, interviews were done by asking the patient open-ended questions related to specific main areas of daily living, coupled with life experiences felt by clients, post-diagnosis of heart failure. The interviews were completed on those individuals over the age of 65 years old, and wellness data was compiled while they were living at home.
