The Industrial Revolution in the Periphery

In an informal essay of about 750 words or more (3+ pages), discuss the impact of the industrial revolution in places outside of the industrial cores. Use the course materials from Module 4 (Marks, P&T, the "lectures") including at least 2 primary sources (drawn from the pages  Workers & Bosses  -  Liberal Mass Politics-and/or Annexations. You will want to think along the lines of the production of material goods (and how that played out in the periphery), the political power generated in the cores by industrialization and how core states projected that power into the periphery, and peripheral social (think work and status systems) and cultural changes (as consumers).

Citations: Use direct quotes from the primary documents–you need only name the author to label them–as evidence for your own arguments.

Hint: Look for patterns that seem similar, in western North America, in South America, in sub-Saharan Africa, South, East, and Southeast Asia.
