Covert racism at present is subtle, unpopular, acceptable and disguised as colour-blindness. The idea of social justice can never be achieved if racism exists in this world in any form. The fact that covert racism is acceptable and unknown to many people makes it hard to track and end. This paper aims to provide de-biasing strategies as implicit biases are the reason behind covert racism, while advocating the urgency to address the issue of covert racism. "Covert racism, born out of imperialist needs to maximize profit at the expense of racialized others, stands shielded by institutions, culture, stereotypical assumptions, and tradition." (Coates, 2008) Majority of the articles related to covert racism are problem-based, rather than solution-based. This paper will look into institutional racism and research different tools for different institutions to have provide an unbiased environment to everyone. Covert racism is not as harmless as Canadians thinks. This paper will go over some global issues and some difficulties faced by victims of covert racism.
