In the first option, the hotel industry is the focus of your research. In a comprehensive paper, assess and present the following in relation to a large international hotel company (Hilton Worldwide, Marriott International, Wyndham International, Accor Hotels, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, and Jin Jiang International, and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group) with which you are familiar or would like to learn more about:
- Begin with an introduction to what your paper is going to cover.
- Provide a brief overview of the hotel/company to provide perspective and scope to your final project.
- Explain the mission and vision of the company. Discuss what their primary business is, and where they believe their future direction lies.
- Explain the history of the company.
- Assess their competitive advantage (what they do better than any other company; what makes them unique in the hotel industry).
- Assess the future of the industry. How do you foresee the hotel industry changing in the future, including the growth of vacation rentals and Airbnb?
- What are the areas they need to improve on?
- Based on your understanding of the hotel, the industry, and its future, offer and support 3-4 strategies that you would propose the hotel follow in order to not only remain competitive in its future market but to garner greater market share.
- Additionally, present the implications for management/leadership for such strategies.
- End the paper with a conclusion.
