The purpose is to identify the current conversation according to your research, its strengths, its limitations, ways that the institution can improve on being more inclusive, and why it is important to do so.

    Define diversity, identify the specific focus of your project, and explain why this is an important perspective to be aware of
    Use 3 scholarly journal articles and 2 credible open access/popular sources published or posted within the last 5 years.  For each discuss
o    Primary argument(s) from the source
o    Relevant citation
o    Critical analysis of how these/this argument relates to the focus of your project
    Synthesis of the ways these 5 sources speak to one another and provide insight into a conversation about diversity in academic and professional spaces.
    Discuss consequences/benefits of being aware of these issues.
    Direct your research to a specific audience EITHER
    An imagined supervisor/manager/HR person in your professional field OR
    A department chair/college dean/diversity committee on campus.
