You have been asked to prepare a Statement of Objection on behalf of Belfast City Airport Watch to the proposed Public Inquiry into developments at Belfast City Airport.  The Planning application for the extension has been withdrawn but the City Airport Watch anticipate a new application, possibly involving an expansion to the estate and have commissioned you to help prepare for the Public Inquiry, bearing in mind the possibility of increasing the runway length. The issues of noise and the length of the runway have been connected and complicated and the BCAW want you to address both issues together.

The Statement of Objection

o    Planning Policies that support your argument;
o    Evidence from other planning cases making sure that it is a valid comparison;
o    How you would anticipate and respond to proponent arguments; and
    Strong summative statement making explicit the case for refusal.
remember that you are being asked to object to expansion of the airport, not the relaxation of noise controls.
