Why Teach?

Reflect on the experiences of the five teachers you read

about who were nominated for National Teacher of the Year, and write a

first-person narrative of 250-500 words explaining why you want to teach.

Cite three to five teachers from the CCSSO: National Teacher

of the Year in your narrative. Consider the following criteria in your

narrative:

1.    Why do you want to be a teacher?

2.    What/who inspired you to teach?

3.    What grade level do you want to teach? Why?

4.    What characteristics, experiences, or skills do you possess that make you suited for teaching?

GCU style is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.
