This negativity can weigh heavenly on motivation, identity, perception of fairness and creativity. When an individual is feeling any pressure to fit in, they may change who they truly are. By suppressing their uniqueness, it can lower their motivation. At times conformity will require a person to prioritize group consensus over their own personal values and beliefs, which usually will cause the person to lose their own identity or our own self-perception. Those that have a stronger personality may dominate with their opinions, and this can cause other group members to feel any decisions are unfair or biased. Judgements will mesh with the rest of the group so as not feeling rejected. Creativity anddiversity of ideas can be lost or discouraged in a group setting because some may feel hesitant to share their ideas feeling they will be rejected; however, the loss can cause the group to miss out on a new solution even if it may seem unconventional. 2. The learning amongst group membersCohesiveness intensifies a group with their efforts which will increase their harmony, productivity and learning ability. With a cohesive group. they are willing to share ideas, their experiences and knowledge, therefore, creating a stronger bond. This helps the group be in a more positive atmosphere that will enable a learning experience. Harmony keeps the group on the same page, helping reduce misunderstandings. The group learns to trust each other. When agroup is given a challenge and they are rewarded, there is a spirit of group commitment that is established for their work (Myers, 2021). Conformity will also have those in the group take responsibility and accountability to making sure that their objective as a group is completed. When everyone is relaxed and working as a group, it paves the way for learning. Each person in the group can share their ideas and thoughts that will help to increase the knowledge that is being introduced. 3. Using the various socio-psychological concepts examined in this project to support your position, share three recommendations for optimizing the group collaboration experience.When I think about the various concepts, I have a few that I would recommend optimizing the group experience. By establishing clear roles along with the responsibility that comes with it, it will help minimize any confusion and each person of the group understands what role they play. This allows clarity and can reduce any future conflict from happening. Second, I recommend creating a safe and inclusive environment so anyone can feel valued and recognized. We want that relationship and can achieve it with team building exercises. By making everyone feel 3
welcomed, it opens communications between everyone. Lastly, Being open to feedback and constructive criticism. Many people may feel insecure when they are told something, even to the point of feeling some resentment.
