Importance of Physical Activity
Regular physical activity helps improve an individual’s general health, fitness, and quality of life. Physical fitness is critical for various ages across the population. Individuals can gain from physical activity, whether it is via vigorous training or moderate health-improving physical activities. A lack of physical activity can result in a variety of diseases and health problems. Obesity and type II diabetes are two health problems that exercise can help to improve. Obesity rates in 2020 were 41.9 percent. In the middle-aged, a lack of regular exercise can lead to a variety of chronic illnesses such as high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, and stroke. Obesity treatment in the United States was $1861 more expensive in 2019 for persons just as compared to those who were at a healthy weight. Type II diabetes is another health condition that the majority of Americans face. Ninety percent of diabetic people have type II diabetes. Type II diabetes develops when the body does not use insulin properly or adequately. As a result, it is recommended that people exercise and eat a nutritious diet (Magkos et al., 2020). Healthy fruits include a variety of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. It is also recommended that consumers consume lean meats and healthy fats. Regular exercise increases physical energy, reduces stress, and lowers the risk of obesity and type II diabetes.
As a health worker, I recommend various essential physical activities like walking, cycling, and other recreational activities. Depending on the patient’s physical activity tolerance, I would create an exercise program for them. I will advise middle-aged people to start with exercises they enjoy, including walking, cycling, and swimming, before progressing to strenuous gym routines. The exercise should be done at least 150 minutes of moderate level and 75 minutes of intense activity weekly. I encourage patients to participate in physical activity by supporting the creation of healthy environments that enable physical activeness from our near patients and telling them the importance of physical activity (Czosnek et al., 2020). To gain cooperation from the patients, , Instead of telling them what to do, I would strive to listen to them and develop a strategy they will advise to build their trust. In addition to exercises, I will advise the patients to eat healthily and steer clear of fast food.
