Favorite Villian
Who is your favorite fictional villian– the one you love to hate? Write from their point of view, justifying their actions or telling the story from their perspective. Here is an example to get you started:
It was going so well. We finally had a leader that would get all the weak half-bloods out of the way so we–the ones who had never sullied ourselves by intermingling–could have the position we have always been destined for. I heard about the revolution my seventh year of school, and the more I saw of HIM the more I was drawn. He was so powerful! By the time I graduated I had made sure that he knew about me—that I would do anything for him and for the cause. It wasn’t a schoolgirl crush. I wanted to change the world! And he came for me—of course he did! He made me a lieutenant, and we tore a path through the old world. We fought, we killed, and some of us died, but we almost did it.
But then, the prophesy…
This one little factor could ruin everything. He knew he had to do something, and it made sense to take care of the problem while it was still small. We couldn’t let it all be in vain! But it all went wrong, and now some say he is dead. No! I know better. His “loyal” followers all went into hiding, even my own sister and her family. Not me–I looked for him. I couldn’t find him, but I know he is alive–we did what we had to to make sure he couldn’t die. He’s laying low, healing and regaining his strength, and as soon as he can, he will come for me and I will be rewarded. And so, I sit here in this prison, and I wait.
