This lesson will teach you the important skill of taking notes using the SQ3R Method for reading and notetaking strategy.
In this lesson, you will:
- Read the three (3) articles on your topic from the OCCC library databases.
- Use the SQ3R Strategy to read informative text.
- Take notes on your articles.
What is SQ3R?
SQ3R is a strategy to use when reading informative texts such as articles, textbook chapters, brochures, etc. to collect the most important information to use in writing or for a test. This method helps break down unfamiliar information into smaller sections, which makes the text easier to read and understand.
After taking notes using the SQ3R Strategy to read and take notes, you will have all of the information needed to compile and create an outline to use when drafting the Informative work
If you need extra help with MLA citations, in-text citations, or formatting, reach out to your instructor and/or get free tutoring at the OCCC Writing Center.
