Reading analysis
The purpose of this assignment is to become familiar with the assessment of young readers’ reading skills (accuracy, fluency, comprehension) called Running Records, or Informal Running Record (IRR). After learning and practicing IRRs in class, we will read with our kindergarten and second grade buddies at Frank Love Elementary during field day 2 (May 6, 2024). Your buddies will read from their own book, from a Qualitative Reading Inventory (QRI) word list, and a QRI passage. You will use your field notes and forms to complete the Running Records Analysis assignment template and write an analysis and reflection about one of your two buddies.
