Project Introduction: The final project is a group assessment designed to provide students with a practical understanding of CSR initiatives in local corporations, and benchmark best CSR practices with similar lines of businesses. The project encourages students to apply their theoretical knowledge in evaluating ethical business practices, fostering critical thinking, research skills, and effective communication abilities. Students are expected to make research-based analysis and evaluation based on their written report and presentation. 2. Course Learning Outcome to be achieved by this project: CLO Code Course Learning Outcomes S-2.2 Assess communication and teamwork skills by solving ethical issues in various organizations by using various code of ethics and ethical guidelines. Demonstrate the professional and ethical responsibilities relevant to the discipline, IT usage and business industries. V-3.1 CLOs aligned with PLOs PLO-S3 PLO-V1 3. Workflow Required for Project Report and Presentation Project Report: 1. Write a literature review about Business Ethics & CSR including the different parameters found in The Ten Commandments of Social Responsibility; Figure 1 attached at the end of the document. 2. Make a critical review of the literature review mentioned above and relate to the 10 commandments of social responsibility. 3. Choose any corporation located in Saudi Arabia. 4. Identify and explain five (5) CSR initiatives of the chosen local corporation. 5. Evaluate the five (5) CSR initiatives that your chosen corporation has undertaken using parameters discussed in the course, particularly The Ten Commandments of Social Responsibility; Figure 1 attached at the end of the document. 6. Benchmark the local corporation with the similar line of business located internationally using parameters discussed in the course, particularly The Ten Commandments of Social Responsibility. 7. Identify and explain five (5) CSR initiatives of an international corporation. 8. Evaluate the five (5) CSR initiatives that your chosen international corporation has undertaken and make a judgment of the initiatives that your chosen corporation, both local and international has undertaken. Compare them with the local corporation’s initiatives. (Rank them on a scale of 1-5). 9. Suggest a CSR initiative to the chosen local corporation. The structure of the report should be: 1. Cover page: – Course name, course code, student names and numbers, date of submission. 1 2. Table of contents: – Clear and detailed, with proper sequence and numbers. Includes details of appendix. 3. Executive summary: – Should contain a brief background of the project, statement of purpose, outline of report findings, recommendation, and conclusion. Should not be more than 1 page. 4. Information and background information: – Description of business ethics and CSR, its importance to business organization. – Background of a chosen local company. – Background of chosen international company. 5. Literature Review: – Business ethics, CSR, different parameters found in 10 commandments of social responsibility, critical evaluation of literature review. 6. Discussion, evaluation, and benchmarking: – Identify and explain five (5) CSR initiatives of the chosen local corporation. – Evaluate the five (5) CSR initiatives that your chosen corporation has undertaken using parameters discussed in Chapter 3 particularly The Ten Commandments of Social Responsibility. Provide a detailed evaluation of each initiative including their positive and the negative points. – Benchmark the local corporation with the similar line of business located internationally using parameters discussed in Chapter 3 particularly The Ten Commandments of Social Responsibility. – Identify and explain five (5) CSR initiatives of an international corporation. – Evaluate the five (5) CSR initiatives that your chosen international corporation has undertaken and make a judgment of initiatives that your chosen corporation, both local and international has undertaken. Compare them with the local corporation’s initiatives. Provide a detailed evaluation of each initiative including their positive and the negative points. – Note: Include photos for the initiatives taken and the table for ranking of the initiatives in relation to the 10 commandments of social responsibility. 7. Conclusion: – Students are expected to restate the report and relate it to its purpose and summarize the key points. 8. Recommendation: – Students are expected to suggest/recommend a CSR initiative to the chosen local corporation with justification. 9. Appendix: – References (minimum 5) 2 4. General Guidelines: 1. Each group should consist of 5-6 students. 2. This project should reflect fair teamwork among group members. 3. Each group should assign a group leader as a point of reference with the course instructor. 4. The written report should be between 3000-4000 words max. 5. Use both primary and secondary sources to collect data and information to build your report & presentation. You are expected to use a minimum of five (5) secondary references including books, journals, academic papers, and websites. 6. The PowerPoint presentation should take no longer than 15 mins, followed by 5 mins for questions and answers session. All students of the group must participate in the presentation. 7. Make sure to include visual aids such as graphs, tables (matrices), diagrams and/or pictures to highlight your points clearly, both in the report and in the PowerPoint presentation. 8. The report and presentation should be uploaded as a soft copy on the Blackboard. 9. The submission deadline is on May 11, 2024 at 11:59 PM. 10. Late submission: Due dates will be firmly adhered. If the project and presentation are not submitted by the due date, a penalty of 20% per day will be deducted from the assessment mark. 11. Writing Guidelines: Paper size: A4, Line Spacing: 1.15, Margins: Normal all sides, Font: Times New Roman, Font Size: 12 for text and 14 for heading. 12. Harvard referencing should be used for in-text references and bibliography. 13. Your report and slides should be grammatically correct, well punctuated, clear, concise, neatly presented, and easy to read. 14.
