For this Summative Assessment assignment, you are welcome to combine the applicable previous assignments where they fit into this assignment. For example, your lesson plan and recently submitted student activity may fit perfectly into your summative assessment. Also, remember your classroom management plan and design submission and your standards and objectives assignment will serve you well in completing assignment #4.
You may complete this assignment in pairs or triads. If you choose to do so, each person needs to submit the final product in the assignment submission area.
For this assignment you will need to select two of the six types of summative assessments covered within this module and create an assessment that aligns with a standard in your area of certification. One selection must come from ‘Option A’ AND one selection from ‘Option B’. The grouping options are listed below (See Chapter 7, Section #4) :

For each of your selected forms of summative assessment, you will need to identify the following criteria:
Assessment type: Select either Objective Test Items, Essay Test Items, Final Student Projects, Product-Based, Performance-Based, or Inquiry Activity
Grade level: Type the grade level for the intended use of this assessment. Note, this should also match the standard level.
Subject: Type in the content area for this assessment – mathematics, ELA, science, or social studies.
Standard: Select the appropriate standard which is aligned with your assessment. North Carolina Essential Standards.
Assessment description: Please describe the assessment and how it would inform the teacher on student’s mastery of the content.
Assessment preview/snapshot: Please include a visual of the expected assessment. If you are expecting students to perform something, then you can find an image, clipart, or a video that represents the expectation.
Grading resource: Please include either an answer key and/or grading rubric for use with grading the assessment. Below is a breakdown of the grading resource that most closely aligns with each type of summative assessment.
