As part of professional dispositions, it is important to grow in self-awareness. This assignment will create an opportunity to explore your personal lifespan development and how it contributes to who you are as a unique individual.
Write your developmental story from childhood to adulthood. Consider the factors that influenced your development in each life stage. Explain the impact of those environmental factors on your development across the lifespan using two lifespan development theories as a framework. In addition, evaluate your own wellbeing at different stages. Describe strategies related to wellness and resiliency that you used or use now to increase your wellbeing.
You are not expected nor encouraged to describe every detail of your life. Instead, focus on one or two developmental milestones in each stage and consider the factors that influenced your development. Only include information you are comfortable sharing with your instructor. The purpose of the paper is to demonstrate your understanding of the development theories, the factors that influence development, and the concept of wellbeing. While this exercise is helpful in increasing self-awareness, it may not be a comfortable or appropriate setting to explore trauma.
