The data collection section of this article is detailed and includes any information of questions that the reader may have. With that being said, I would say that the collection is successful overall with strengths and weaknesses. Strengths of the data collection section include: the detailedness of the information in order for the readers to fully understand and picture the data collection, the anonymity of the data in order to keep the bias out of the selection of whom would be used in the study, the timeframe in which the data collection took place, and the deep explanation the process in which how they chose the participants and why they chose who they chose. The only weakness of the data collection section of this article was how detailed htey were in whom they were interviewing and researching. I think there was too much specificity of the selection that it left out the viewpoints of other important people that could provide beneficial information in this study.
The bias that I would say was present only occurred when the specific participants were being chosen. Depending on who determined who would be in the study, there could have been specific people chosen. The “chooser” of the participants could have a bias that denied some of the participants, whether it was a conscious or unconscious bias. Fidelity was maintained because there were no names involved and the questionnaire was anonymous along with the other information included in it.

(2020) provides important information, which can be applied in clinical practice. However, nursing practitioners are required to ascertain the validity of research evidence before adopting it into practice. This understanding underscores the need to evaluate the sources of bias in the data collection procedure used in the study. The methods used in gathering information in research need to be systematic and objective, free from personal biases and beliefs. To this end, while researchers in the study did not impose personal bias, the data collection approach used in the investigation is susceptible to various biases, such as bias arising from ambiguous questions, missing data, and response fatigue. The use of questionnaires in the research triggers the possibility of biases arising from ambiguous questions, which is a type of bias categorized under the question design. Typically, ambiguous questions lead participants to understand questions differently from how it was intended, resulting in wrong answers. The Stress-related Vulnerability Scale (SVS scale) used in the study was not originally designed for caregivers of patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease (Enrico et al., 2020). The scale was modified to suit the current study and its questions may be ambiguous leading to bias. Similarly, the fact that respondents in the study self-reported the questionnaires opens the possibility of bias arising from missing data. Response fatigue is another possible source of bias in the data collection approach. The use of two questionnaires was a catalyst for response fatigue, which might have resulted in inaccurate answers. However, while the data collection procedure has various limitations, there is evidence of fidelity since the method is consistent and repeatable. Two questionnaires were distributed to each of the participants in the investigation.
